Is Cashful a personal finance app or just an expense tracker?
Both. Cashful records income, expenses and transfers across cards, cash and savings in any currency, so you see your balances and where money comes from, not only what you spent. It is a manual finance tracker: nothing is pulled from your bank, you log each entry by voice, receipt or keyboard. New to this? When is Cashful not the right finance app?
Cashful is not built for you if you want transactions imported automatically from your bank, need an app for Android, Windows or the web, or want to track investments, stocks or crypto. It is a manual tracker for everyday income, expenses and budgets on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

Yes. Cashful Free covers everyday tracking with no time limit: unlimited manual entries with the calculator keyboard, income, expenses and transfers, up to 3 accounts and 2 currencies, search and full history, iCloud sync, widgets, Siri and the Apple Watch app. Every new user also gets 10 voice entries and 5 receipt scans to try. Cashful Pro makes them unlimited and adds the deeper tools.
Does Cashful connect to my bank account?
No. Cashful is a manual, private expense tracker: you capture each entry by voice, receipt or keyboard, and the app never asks for bank credentials or aggregates accounts. Here is why a budget app without bank linking is worth it.
How do I add an expense by voice?
Tap the mic and say something like “Coffee 5 dollars, card”, then tap anywhere on the screen. Cashful turns the sentence into a filled-in expense with amount, category and account. The sentence, together with the names of your categories and accounts, is sent to Cashful's server for recognition and is not stored there; balances and history stay on your device. Can Cashful scan receipts?
Yes. Snap a receipt and Cashful reads the total, category, account and date, then fills in the new expense for you to check. The photo and the names of your categories and accounts go to Cashful's server, where an AI model reads the receipt; our server doesn't keep the photo. The first 5 scans are free; Pro makes scanning unlimited.
Can I track expenses on Apple Watch?
Yes. The Cashful Apple Watch app is free for everyone: speak an expense, set the amount with the Digital Crown or the keypad, pick a category, and it lands on your iPhone. You can see all your accounts in one list and add Cashful to your watch face. Cashful also runs on iPad and on Macs with Apple silicon, and everything syncs through your own iCloud. Can I analyze my spending with ChatGPT?
Yes, with Cashful Pro. Open the right-hand menu, tap ChatGPT & AI and pick last month, last year or all time. Cashful builds a text file with your accounts, transactions, transfers, categories and notes and opens the iOS share sheet, so you can send it to ChatGPT or any other AI chat and ask where to save. Cashful never sends your data to an AI on its own, and once you share the file, that service's terms apply. AI answers are not financial advice. Where is my data stored, and is it private?
Your records live on your iPhone. When the device is signed in to iCloud, Cashful keeps an encrypted copy in your own iCloud container through Apple CloudKit, so your iPad and Apple Watch stay in sync. ANApps has no database of your records. Optional anonymous usage statistics never include amounts, notes or names.
Does Cashful work offline?
Yes. Manual entries, search, history and analytics work offline, and iCloud sync catches up when you're back online. Voice input and receipt scanning need a connection because recognition happens on a server.
Can I track multiple currencies?
Yes. Each account can have its own currency, and you set your own exchange rates. Transfers between accounts convert as you save, so both balances stay right. Free includes 2 currencies; Pro makes them unlimited.
Can I share a budget with my partner or family?
Yes, with Cashful Pro. Share a Space through Apple's iCloud and the people you invite see the same budget on their own devices, with live updates. They can view it, and you add and edit the entries. Your personal Space stays private.
Can I import or export my data to Excel or CSV?
Yes. CSV import and export are part of Cashful Pro, so you can move records to Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets and bring history in from other apps. See how to track expenses without a spreadsheet.
Can I add expenses with Siri?
Yes. Say “Quick expense in Cashful” and then one phrase like “coffee 5 dollars from card”, and the expense is saved straight away. The classic “Add expense in Cashful” command asks four short questions instead. You can also open a new expense with Back Tap.
What does Cashful Pro cost and include?
Pro is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US (prices are local in other countries), with a 7-day free trial. It adds unlimited voice entries, receipt scans, accounts and currencies, full analytics and month comparison, the year heat map, CSV import and export, shared Spaces and Ask ChatGPT & AI.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
Choose either Pro plan in the app and you get full Pro access free for 7 days. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your Apple ID is charged and the subscription renews automatically. Cancel anytime in iOS Settings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, Cashful and Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the current period. Apple handles the subscription, not Cashful.
How do I restore purchases on a new iPhone?
Sign in with the Apple ID that bought Pro and tap Restore Purchases in Cashful's settings. Cashful checks your purchase with Apple through RevenueCat, with no extra account on our side.
Does Cashful work on Mac?
Yes, on Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later). Cashful is built for iPhone and iPad, and Apple lets these Macs run it: open the Mac App Store, search for Cashful and install it with the same Apple ID. It syncs with your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch through your own iCloud. Macs with Intel processors are not supported.
