Cashful Privacy Choices
This page is the public summary of the privacy-sensitive choices available in Cashful. It does not replace your device settings or the app UI, but it explains the main controls users can rely on today.
Notifications
You can disable Cashful notifications in iOS settings if you do not want shared spending updates to appear on the lock screen, in banners, or in notification previews.
Shared Spaces
You can stop using a shared Space or disconnect a shared relationship if you no longer want shared finance information visible to invited participants.
Local data
You can delete local app data if you want to remove finance records from the device. If you need a copy first, export before deletion.
CSV workflows
CSV export and import are always initiated by the user. You choose the file, destination, and any later sharing or processing steps.
Cashful Pro subscription
You can cancel your subscription anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Cashful Pro. Canceling stops auto-renewal at the end of the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.
RevenueCat data
Subscription state is processed by RevenueCat. The data shared with RevenueCat is minimal (anonymous user ID, App Store transaction events) and does not include your finance records, name, email, or Apple ID password. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
AI receipt scanning
Receipt scanning is opt-in. When you take or pick a photo, only that photo is sent to Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite API to extract the amount and category — no other Cashful data is shared. Skip the scanner and use manual entry to keep all data on-device. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
1. Notification visibility
Shared-space notifications can reveal finance details such as amount, category, or account information. If that is too visible for your situation, turn off notification permission, disable previews at the iOS level, or avoid enabling the shared notification workflow.
2. Widget visibility
Widgets can display balances, account names, and quick-entry context. If your device screen is visible to other people, remove the widget or change your device-level visibility preferences to reduce exposure.
3. Shared Space access
Shared Spaces are meant for invited participants only. If you no longer want shared visibility, stop using the shared Space, disconnect the shared relationship if that option is available in the app, and verify which participants still have access.
4. Local records and deletion
If you want to remove your finance information from the device, use the app's data removal tools where available. If you also use iCloud sync or shared Spaces, keep in mind that the result can depend on your Apple account state and the current sharing setup.
5. iCloud and Apple services
Cashful does not require a separate developer account, but Apple ID and iCloud are involved when you use Apple-powered sync or sharing. If you do not want that cloud workflow, avoid enabling iCloud-based sync or shared Spaces.
6. CSV export and import
Once you export a CSV file, later handling depends on the storage provider, file app, or spreadsheet tool you choose. If the exported file contains sensitive finance data, treat that file carefully outside Cashful as well.
7. AI receipt scanning
Cashful Pro's receipt scanner is opt-in. Tap to scan a receipt and the photo is sent to Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite to extract the amount and category, which are then parsed into the new-expense form on your device. No accounts, balances, or other Cashful data are sent. If you prefer not to use AI processing, stick with manual entry — nothing leaves the device for that flow.
8. Cashful Pro subscription controls
Cashful Pro is an auto-renewable subscription managed by Apple through your Apple ID. You control it independently of the app:
- Cancel anytime — open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Cashful Pro and choose to cancel. Auto-renewal stops at the end of the current period; Pro features remain available until then.
- Restore purchases — tap “Restore Purchases” inside the Cashful paywall or the Pro section in Settings. Restoration relies on your Apple ID via RevenueCat.
- Refund requests — submit at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple owns App Store refund decisions; ANApps cannot directly issue or override them.
- RevenueCat data minimization — RevenueCat receives only anonymous user IDs and Apple-provided transaction events. It does not receive your finance records, name, email, or Apple ID password.
Full subscription terms are in the Terms of Use. Full data handling is in the Privacy Policy.
